APAC Coal Ltd appointed PT Dunggio as the drilling contractor for the identified drilling targets within the 890 Ha Bekosos Lempesu block in Kalimantan, Indonesia. Dunggio will use the wire line system of drilling to ensure more than 90 % recovery of core and is anticipated to begin May 2009, deploying two drill rigs to complete the infill drilling of the 890 Ha block by mid-June 2009.
PT. Dunggio Drilling has initiated a Chainsaw Operator Training that was held on November 19 to 21, 2011 at Hotel Berkat Raudah, Muara Teweh, Central Kalimantan. With excellent supports from PT. Austral Byna, the training located on their main ground which emphasized mainly to the importance of personal protective equipments (PPE) and the First Aid.
APAC Coal has a 30 Year Concession to explore for coal over a 23,124 ha parcel of land in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. A JORC compliant resource of 5.1 million tonnes has been identified which is expected to form the basis of an initial mining operation. This resource occurs within a very small area of the Concession(3.8%) with over 90% of the Concession yet to be explored to any significant degree. Kalimantan is the principal coal producing region of Indonesia, the world's 7th largest coal producer.
